Rambles from a Rabbit: story of a friend

She had a friend.
A friend that made her smile.
A friend that made her day.
Some would even say
She'd been waiting a while.

She found a friend.
A friend who knew it all.
A friend with 4 inch heels
So everyone else can know she stood tall.

She was a friend.
So loving and true
If her friendship were a song,
She'd dedicate it to you!

All of this was grand
It lasted for a while
What you have to overstand
is true colors spill so try not to live in denial

People will build you up with confidence
just to break you down with diffidence

fill you up with compliments just to feed your pride
But she rolls with RYE inside
so the ego has died
now its obvious and she can see through your eyes

This isn't a competition, YOU are the only one racing.
Spend more time pacing.
Think about the friendship you're ruining and the time that you're wasting.
I want you to succeed and I want you to grow.
Just because you think I'm at the top doesn't mean you're down low.
Last time I checked, both our feet were on the ground.
And last time I checked.. We were both done with this town.
Why's it gotta be like this? I dont care, I forgive you.
And I forgive myself most of all, for thinking you were true.

Be happy for those who are pursuing their goals and trying new things.
Its not always about money, fortune, fame, and glamour.
Strive for more than this scene

Rabbit Rundown(ep.2) with Adolph Lopez

When it comes to film, whether it is video or photography, Adolph Lopez has been dominating the San Antonio Art scene. This year started off with a bang when Adolph released not only photos but video footage covering Artslam!'s 5 year anniversary with two of L.A's funkiest artist, Jim Mahfood (aka Food One) and Dave Crosland (aka King Gum) . As an artist who both attends and promotes Artslam!, I must say I was very impressed by everything Adolph captured. Personally, I  shared the video about a hundred times with everyone I came in contact with! Art Vibes began the following month and  Adolph's passion for captivating not only "the moment" but the feeling of the atmosphere blossomed in front of our eyes. Viewers were given an artistic insight on the world of live art. Its no wonder this guy makes great videos, he knows how to capture great moments! Since then,Adolph has taken photos and video footage from some of this years best events including Sneaks Up, Blacknote's Circus of the Arts, Beyond the Canvas, and just finished a promo video for this year's San Antonio DMC champ, QBase.
In this "Rabbit Rundown", I bring you the man behind the camera for an EXCLUSIVE interview as we share some laughs and spill some info about upcoming projects, Adolph Lopez!!

Find Adolph's videos here:http://www.vimeo.com/adlopez210

I hope you all enjoyed this rundown and be sure to be on the look out for not only the next Rabbit Rundown but.. for Adolph's next video- Artslam!: Pixels vs Panels!  I appreciate the love/ support from all of the viewers, followers, and artists involved! Rambles from a Rabbit: Revealing Romance

Lately I've found myself writing more than usual. Topics range from dreams, insight, to jokes and silly rambles. I figured I'd share some here on my blog for you all to enjoy!! "Revealing Romance" is about the need/want to be romanced. I'm sure everyone has had a conversation at least once about how they'd like to be loved down or what turns them on.. This is an excerpt from a from a similar conversation written a hopeless romantic wishing to be romanced by the charm and wit from a person only dreams can create. Enjoy!

<3 Rabbit. RYE. 11

A dimmed room illumintaed by the reflection of the moon..
hoping and wishing youd romance me soon..
You’re such an adorable man and you dream of my touch.
You take your time and youre passionate like theres no need to rush.
I crave your night notes and the smile you try to hide
and when your cheeks squint your eyes-
it  hides your blushing inside.
Soft kisses on the neck while your fingers interlock with mine,
the kisses we share send chills down your spine
I know youre out there waiting to feel me,
each day that passes tempts you to hurry up and steal me
to take me far away to share a love so pure
this isnt just the beginning, its our story’s armature.
countless times I’ve dreamt up countless ways of meeting
imaginary dream lover.. show me how this life decieved me.

Art Vibes is back!

So.. the party is back on! We took a minor break from Art Vibes (our weekly hangout where we like to paint and drink!) to work on solo projects, personal vacations, and plenty of other reasons but... WE'RE BACK AT IT! I am personally really excited! Art vibes was one of my favorite weekly spots! Now we're coming back harder and stronger with fresh new surprises for ALL of the artists! I cant wait to see the new artists coming out to paint and bless us with new talent/skill. Plus I love painting with my "crew" hahahha I dont roll with a crew but the people I paint with are dope! Can not wait to rock something new for everyone and work on a secret collab! Yes, thats right, I'm starting off Art Vibes right with a special collab with a new artist, Lesley Fielding!
DJ Chacho on the ones and twos spinning some pure funk to set the mood while local artists set up and rock whatever canvas you prefer. Feel free to come out and enjoy the atmosphere.

So many collaborations between some of the most random artists have taken place here. Artists like, Bluzilla One, Aesop, Werds, Cristobal Licea, Dahveed, Eureka, Dezda Hyer, and many more all come out here to get the groove going and chill with some of San Antonio's most relaxed and free artists. Come out and paint, draw, or chill. With $2 Woodchuck and $2 Zeigenbock, you're bound to have a great time and meet some funny characters!

Traveling to T!ckster

So.. Many people have been asking me where I"ve been and what I"ve been up to.. I am a little late on this post buutt.. I spent about a week or so in Cali. Blu and I packed our bags, car, and headed out west! Everyone was headed there for Comic-Con but we had a different plan in mind. Not only was a vacation needed for the both of us but when we found out Trickster was taking place during the same week, and right across the street.. We Automatically knew that this is where we would feed our hunger for creator-owned projects, Artists full of wisdom, and of course time to relax in an art scene outside of the scene I have grown so used to.
For those of you who do not know what Tr!ckster is, it is a creator owned event where the most influential artists in today's animation, illustration, and storytelling all gathered to promote their current/ upcoming projects. Not only were these really amazing artists hanging out, signing books, and being overall really cool people... There were symposiums we were able to attend where artists like Scott Morse (Pixar, Tiger!, Tiger!, Tiger!), Scottie Young (Human torch, The Marvelous Land of Oz), Scott C (Lucas Arts: Star Wars), Dave Crosland (Alphabet Attack, Puffed!, Wrecking Skull), Jim Mahfood (Marijuana Man, Beat Bee), and Jill Thompson (The Invisibles, Swamp Thing, Wonder Woman) showed up to give us some tips on all sorts of mediums and design techniques. Not to mention the fact that all of this artists knocked out some amazing creations right before our eyes! Brian McDonald, the author of Invisible Ink, was there to school us on storytelling and the fundamentals of story building. Every day there was something new to consume and plenty of new books to pick up!
Speaking of books, Scott Morse hooked us up with some of  his awesome books after every symposium we attended. Later at night, the room we spent all day learning and soaking up knowledge turned into "Pen and Drink", a place where models were posing like scenes straight out of a comic book, Artists were sketching their hearts out, and music was bumping the night away. During this mix of awesomeness, I met David Mack (Dexter First Cuts, Kabuki) who was super cool and had some hype dance moves that really got the party started (while Sven and Food One were mixing). I got a couple of his books and must say, I have not been able to put them down!
There was plenty of crazy Comic-Con madness going on down the streets of San Diego and it ws mad fun but I must say, traveling 1500 miles for Tr!ckster was worth it! I really enjoyed myself and it would not have been possible without the support of my peers, followers, and amazing friends. Thank you to everyone who purchased any of my art within the past 2 months, Krys for hooking us up with laughs and a place to stay, and last but not least, LaLa in Tucson, Az for allowing us to chill on our drive to San Diego plus.. she gave me a really cool purse made out of an old sweater! Thanks again to everyone involved! Scott Morse, This was an awesome event and I look forward to the next!
xoxo, Rabbit!

Blue Moon Duel (round 2)

The theme for this round was "mixed media".. Now, anyone who knows Bluzilla, Aesop, or myself knows mixed media is our style no matter what we're doing or where we are sooo, for this competition we stepped it up and threw in some blue moon boxes, records, magazine clippings, foam, and even some BEER! Lol I can not begin to express my love and appreciation for both Blu and Aesop. They are incredible artists and such humble people. The collaborations we've created have been amazing and more are still to come! To think, the three of us met at last year's BM duels.. Now we're back at it again hitting it harder, better, faster, stronger! Next duel is August 2nd @ Cantina off UTSA blvd. Come out to support and buy some exclusive art!

Jellyfish Mermaid

One day I was flipping through old fashion magazines and came across an ad where the model had multiple layers and styles of necklaces. I immediately thought it would be so awesome to see a similar image with tentacles as the necklaces. Figured this situation would most likely happen to a mermaid. Heres a taste of my wild imagination.. Enjoy! :D
Peace and Live,
(yes live as in art and life)
