Day of the Sun

The day started off with some rude (yet funny) awakenings followed by comedy tv series and Sunday brunch at Jim's (who sounds like a pretty nice guy after reading the back of the menu) .. headed over to UIW for the HIP HOP BOOMBOX... Then spent the rest of the day kickin it with my closest friend.. Sunday was a fun day :p

The dark before the dawn

This is me. Bed head, morning goer.. super sleepy but can't go back to sleep. I think I want to use this as a photo refrence for a painting in the near future..

Heart-headed

Painted this  last night at Rev Room during "The Party" while JT MONEEZ, DJ BIG RICH AND DJ JUSTANGEL got down with the best freestyle and bootyshaking music any roller rink in the 90's played! Cien schooled me on some painting techniques and I got offered a spot to paint at SXSW! More details soon!

Live art at 4horsemen

So.. last night I crawled out of my rabbit hole and broke out the old brushes again! It was nice painting live again. I've been in hibernation so long, I almost felt like a rookie at this! I made mistakes and played them off, gave away free art, managed to get a gallery offer, and... Sold this beautiful lady!

Idea spasm

So... As many of you know, I make my own jewelry! Hahaha lately I've been putting my art on rings and hair clips , lockets coming later this month but... I found a new molding adhesive and went wild with it to see what I can create. I ended up with so many random things with my images on them! I can't stop laughing and the overall experience has been refreshing. Cheers to creating and new ideas!

Emerge

Another water doodle created while looking in. I think a lot when I do these. I've noticed a lot of my thoughts are more personal in these moments.. self growth, relationships, future goals. I guess it takes the pressure off of using a particular technique or worrying about the right blending. I just let loose and allow my creativity to spew out. I'm interested to see these images on a bigger canvas with a cleaner style but for now, I am definitely enjoying these painted illustrations!
"Emerge" is about struggle. Ironic, I know but, I have found myself in moments where things feel stagnant. Life will send curve balls and it almost seems like you are being attacked from every angle. When I look at this illustration I see myself. Wavy tentacle hair, battered eyes from the movie she calls life yet still manages to keep her head up.. and above the rain clouds. No matter what is thrown at us we can always emerge from the situation.. even if it knocks us down momentarily. Keep fate on your side and remember to let the storm clouds pass.

Interactions and Distractions

I definitely took a walk on the wild side with this one! Sometimes I feel like no matter how focused I am, someone or something will try to distract me. Whether it is physically or mentally. I've learned to stay focused and create beauty out of ink stains rather than allow them to stain or tarnish my views. This painting was created with watercolor pencils and Indian ink.

I'm debating whether or not to make a ring out of this one so please send me your feedback and thoughts :)

Animated Lullaby

I am a dreamer. I sit and visualize where I want to go. What I want to do. When I look at the design and shapes in the painting, I remember all of the mantras, phrases, scriptures, verses.. whatever you want to call them, running through my mind right before striking gold- being successful in my endeavors.
